Faux AGI crisis to set stage for creating controlled moats around duopoly to prevent market obsolescence
- one theoryprophetone
- the timing is certainly suspect - borrowing costs rising, much less mid-east money available to fund datacenter buildout.monNom
- 'regulating' the industry and thus locking out open models is almost the perfect solution for where these big labs find themselves today.monNom
- ...and you don't really see these guys slowing down. They're still building the doomsday device even though it's gonna 'kill us all'monNom
- A related theory could be that they want to monopolize use of AI for some purposes. For instance you establish that AI is incredibly dangerous in biotech...yuekit
- And then Anthropic and OpenAI get to restrict AI biotech research to themselves and own all the IP that results from it.yuekit
- Open models out in the wild will destroy the trillion dollar companies as soon as they become better, more prevalent, easier for average person to set upprophetone
- They are definitely afraid of thisprophetone
- Been a few years now, it’s like a giant beta test, can see eventually for the most part it go behind closed doors for ip’s, biotech, weapons, push toward agiprophetone
- Surely this is already what’s happening to a degreeprophetone
- One thing is for sure, everybody is lying, the people at the wheel are ignoring the warning signs b/c this is our wayprophetone

AI generated a fake intelligence report that 'almost started a war'
CNN reports that the U.S. military almost boarded a Chinese ship following a fake report generated by AIAn "entirely false" report generated by AI "almost started a war" with China, sources told CNN.
In an exclusive, several sources familiar with the incident told CNN that the fake report stated that a Chinese ship in the Middle East was transporting components of a nuclear weapon. Members of the U.S. military planned to board the ship, and military planes were in.

- The risk that is far more likely than robot uprising and will happen in many scenarios of "end game" AGI is the risk of complete economic stability.mantrakid
- We're entering a world where the labor force will have zero bargaining power. Up until this point in history, the working class has had a reason to exist:mantrakid
- We are the consumers. We make the capitalists money. Its in everyones best interest that we work so that we pay for the "New things" to keep things going.mantrakid
- Were reaching a point where we will no longer be required for that role to keep a system of 'indulgence' possible for the rich.mantrakid
- Once the rich own the production AND the labour, it feels like a simpler end result to just lock it all down and drone swarm anyone who opposes you?mantrakid

Gaww damn! Ooof lol
https://www.instagram.com/reel/D…- People say that it's a scam and the bubble will burst because it's not profitable, but that's a retarded take. The fact it isn't profitable and they're losing..newcunt
- so much money simply shows that it's not about money. The people running the show are the ones that create money. It means nothing to them.newcunt
- This is about creating a one world dictatorship using AI, surveillance and robots.newcunt
- Well aye, obvs. Set things up for less people.zardoz

Opus 5.5 is pretty amazing...this is a JavaScript animation it generated, all done from code
- well I'll be damned. pretty reffing cool. is that yours?_niko
- Yeah crazy huh? It uses WebGL and all of that is coming from plain JavaScript, not using any libraries or files. The sound also generated by JS.yuekit
- That’s nuts!mort_
- Them not going into image generation was really on brand when they can do this type of stuff.palimpsest
- I have a very minimal setup and do everything on the terminal. Even though the other can do the same it just felt better to have Claude use existing tools...palimpsest
- ... just because of the way the positioned themselves from the start.palimpsest

The just dropped Willy Wonka competition show on Netflix is using an AI generated Gene Wilder voice for all the narration, checkpoints of the competition

Created this entire animation scene in Blender with Claude Opus 5.5.
- Loaded in existing models of the Ford Bronco off-road vehicle and let Claude rig it with dynamic suspension that reacts to a live-terrain which I can adjust and no matter how I change the terrain it would dynamically adjust. The car follows a path that I can drag and tweak to change its path if necessary.
- Then it rigged the spider for me and animated it chasing the car so it would always follow the car's path and dynamically adjust if I altered the path of the car.

Blown away this evening having had ai help me create a 12 page brochure in under 2 hours.
I was given a word file by client with all the text and data content.
Gave Claude the word file and told it to take design cues, palette etc from the company website. And said to add placeholders for images.
It gave me a load of SVG's back that I could paste into A4 illustrator pages.
I acted as a design director making some type and copy edits. Made some little tweaks to the header throughout.
Got ChatGPT to create studio style photography of the products from the company at the image size ratio used in the brochure designs. I then placed images throughout brochure.
With 10 of the pages being table and data heavy, this brochure would've taken me a good few nights to do all manually.
- yup. it's great if you can charge the same as you would for the old way otherwise the industry is going to just eat itself._niko
- except for the biggest onesneverscared
- Like wearing a mechsuit at the gym.zardoz
- i love the idea of this but in our org the concern is feeding AI a bunch of information we wouldn't want to get out. is that concern for you?scruffics
- It was for a brochure so all info in it would be in public domain anyway when published.microkorg
- It was AI that did the design here, but rather than directing it to the website for inspiration I could've designed some template pages so that the AI was...microkorg
- ..working more as an artworker rather than a designer. If im doing this again then thats the way id like to try it next. Would feel a lot less like cheating ;)microkorg
- There was no creativity involved, just copying visual rules already defined.dmay
- I've been blown away a few times recently. It's getting better. Design as a career is over.newcunt
- You still need to art direct it but even a halfwit can give it design references they likenewcunt
- so i guess as long as there is confidential information and mistrust of AI, designers will have work to do, right? RIGHT?scruffics
- What a fucking hackrobthelad
- Scruffics, yes, it's a tool that saves us time IMO, that's all. The same as computers saved time not having to typeset or mockup with Letraset.microkorg
- Dmay, Claude actually took influence from a detail within the logo to design pullout panels and image masks that reflected this detail that doesn't featuremicrokorg
- anywhere on the website, so that's a little bit of design thinking. Translating the brand/logo into a design language element.microkorg
- Cool, but are we okay with SVGs pasted into illustrator as design files now?monospaced
- Mono, the SVG is all editable vector and fonts. All good. It does break chunks of copy up, but if you are making edits then you can replace with new copy blocksmicrokorg
- I just had to do that earlier tonight.microkorg
- well shit ...monospaced

- Haha yup I’ve gone back to badly cropped non-photoshopped iPhone pics of clients food shots for all creative just to avoid looking like ai at all costs lol_niko
- "to save time and money..." but being ok with a result that makes the food literally disgusting, unappetizing... how are they not taking a beat an LOOKING at itprophetone
- so you saved some bucks vs hiring a photographer for a day, how many dozens or hundreds of repeat customers have you potentially turned away w/ such an easy fixprophetone
- it's like people have lost their minds, look at the photos, ask honestly does it look appealing to HUMAN customers lolprophetone
- i mean esp with food photos of ALL things to drop the ball on, just to save some bucks and one day of timeprophetone
- this more appetizing

Fraudsters using AI to impersonate senior executives stole €95 million ($108 million) from Fideuram, the private banking arm of Italy's biggest lender Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP.MI),
Believing the request was genuine, Molesini instructed his finance department to arrange a series of transfers to foreign accounts, mainly in China and Hong Kong, the sources said.
