(Jul 24 07, 08:11)hydraulic brakes, oil heated up and faded. 8 inch rotors recommended for big DHs.
matt, face test, I'm going to use that one, haha

shit like that happened to me. but it wasn't a brakes failure. it was me hitting the tree trunk and there i was, flew off 10ft then my bike falling on top of me.

(Jul 24 07, 08:56)That's what I figured happened, just didn't think about it happening on a bike, cars/motorcycles yes, i've had it many times. interesting, glad he's ok btw
oh and tk... lol
I think if you're mbing, at some point you'll go over the bars. the key is to know when it's happening, crank the wheel 90°, clip out and jump and try to run to a stop... i did say try right? cuz it never works out like you plan

just got back from doing my first bout at downhill mountain biking. Was out in Brianhead right outside of Parowan, UT; did a trail called Dark Hollow... absolutely amazing. Probably laid it down about 8 or 9 times, integrated quite a bit of gravel with my skin. After this eye opening experience I finally see what the big deal is about having a full suspension bike. Either way, an absolute blast. That route had some great speed down some 6 miles or so of fire road and some pretty technical crap as well for a noob like me. I laughed at myself when I saw these 3 guys (couldn't be older than 20) just fly by us on the technical routes. They were rockin some serious rides though.

A buddy of mine runs MisfitPsycles, they make singlespeed mtb's and components. He put together a team of 8 riders and headed off to the TransRockies which started yesterday.
Thought some of you might be interested in their blog which they will be updating along the way with photos and content. They are hoping to post some mid-stage shots "as it happens" too.

On Another note: I finally got my wheels built on my 1x1 w/ new hubs and rims:

chris.. did you get a new ride? or packing it in?
i drove up richards 3x looking for taxi... was gonna drop in for a coffee on thursday but no luck finding your joint.

ough..

Shit Tim, that sucks... we're on Richards, one building south of Pender on the west side... maybe next time.
Not getting out of the game, just no need for such a big bike anymore. Looking to trim down to something like an SX Trail or a Shore.
Something I can bomb down on and still peddle up without blowing a lung.
- horton0
yup.. climbing fromme is not fun, even on my lil'gspot.
- horton0
k richards and *pender* noted for next time.
it was totally random on thursday. i shoulda known the cross street but blanked. no worries.

Just traded my psp over the weekend, to a guy who used to own a bmx shop, for a 24 inch Mosh cpmplete made in the Giant factory. Fucking sweet.
