Just returned to Denmark after 2 months of what I planned to be a one year trip to South East Asia and beyond.
ADHD is real. Sensory and executive burnout happens very fast for people like us. In my case, so much faster than I imagined. After travelling Thailand and Vietnam for 7 weeks and had a complete anxiety meltdown in Hanoi, the most chaotic and noisy city I've ever visited. I then proceeded to more rural areas, but I just couldn't properly rest. I needed to be home.
Being 49 is probably not unrelated to my lowered tolerance for discomfort. Hahaha. But I've always been unable to cope with stress for long. I remember being 19 or 20 camping at music festivals and being completely drained after 2 days, whereas my friends just kept going, sometimes for 10 days of drinking, partying and camping. Can't do it. I never could.
You're probably wondering why I thought I could handle one year of backpacking, with my non-neurotypical brain? Well, I thought I could simply stay put in one place for a month and simply rest, and then continue. Turns out, the comfort of my own home isn't just a preference, at some point it becomes an absolute necessity to not burn out. Live and learn.
First time traveling ore than a month. I had a good run, and I think I'll continue the run in a few months, maybe Malaysia and Indonesia. Now I just know I'm built for sprints and not marathons.
- I had a good time otherwise :)jagara

- The adult ADHD test is to easy to pass. Opening that chapter up later in life has been nothing but a disaster in my personal exp. Time became an anomoly.brothernoah

146 years ago they are still remembered, the 75 people killed in Dundee's Tay Bridge disaster on this day in 1879.
The evening of Sunday 28 December 1879 was a violent one. As a ferocious storm swept across the Tay, high winds battered the bridge while the train made its crossing.
Just after 7pm, the central spans gave way under the strain, sending the train and its passengers into the dark, freezing waters below. There were no survivors.

- Simply mindblowing. At the scale of modern transistors, individual atoms are the size of marbles. Moors law can't continue.jagara

2025 was a year.
I was laid off, my dog died, i had to evict a problem tenant who later sued me, and not stop chaos from the cheeto in chief.
But, on the bright side: I addressed the damage from said tenant, he lost his lawsuit, wife got a promotion, got to spend the summer with the kids, and the week before christmas I accepted a new role.
Im hopeful for a pleasant 2026, for me and the rest of yall.
