Artificial Intelligence
Sensing an impending, overnight, NFT-like rapid lack of interest scenario for the sexier, expensive, subscription-based, heavily-funded AI products as eyeballs focus on the improving open source solutions, and with AGI around the corner it’s going to pivot yet again, as we hopefully get closer to me getting my hoverboard.

Artificial Intelligence
I'm considering closing my $20 ChatGPT account and moving over to Abacus AI for $10 a month. Abacus AI offer so many models under one roof.
Abacus Models Included:
LLMs
- GPT-4o
- GPT-o1
- Deepseek R1
• Claude Sonnet 3.5
• Claude Haiku 3.5
• Gemini 2.0 Flash
• Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking
• Gemini 1.5 Pro
- Abacus AI Dracarys
- Abacus AI Smaug
- Llama 3.3 70B
- Llama 3.1 405B
- GrokImage Generation
- FLUX 1.1 Pro
- FLUX 1.1 Ultra
- Dall-E
• Recraft
• IdeogramVideo Generation
- Kling Al v1.6
- Luma Labs
- Runway
• Hailuo AI- me too, but why not just use Deepseek for free?_niko
- Abacus has more stuff and image/ video generation stuffNBQ00
- Because look at all the various models that are on this platform. You get ChatGPT, Google, Meta, etc..and all of the image and video generators as well.utopian
- this one? https://abacus.ai/grafician
- "$10 per user, billed monthly (first month free, minimum 2 month subscription Learn more)"grafician
- https://abacus.ai/ch…grafician
- oh shit, glanced over that, so you get the latest chatGPT as well plus all the other stuff so worse case even if you only use GPT you save 50% each month_niko
- There is a token limit though. It's great if you are a moderate userShenanigansTV
- That's the URL and they're a U.S. company that doesn't share data with China. They also offer the Deepseek LLM within their API environment.utopian
- So both OpenAI and Anthropic are allowing this company to cannibalize their margins on already money losing models?monNom
- I’d be highly suspicious that you weren’t actually getting GPT-o1 but rather some smaller/cheaper model fine tuned to say it was GPT-o1.monNom
- Also, all of the AI data can be integrated and indexed into: Google Drive, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, etc.. You also can build AI agents & chatbots.utopian
- According to information available on Abacus AI's website, their $10 per month plan does not have a strict "token limit".utopian
- I'm probably paying around $500 a month easy for AI shit for work, probably closer to $700YakuZoku

blog
Had an uncle (my moms brother) die unexpectedly overnight.
He was a wild man through life, never really "took off" in life / failure to launch.
Drugs, booze, etc. etc. etc.
Heart attack.
NOT unexpected, BUT start to think about NOT making an effort to see him more, have him over for family meals these last few years, etc. etc. etc.
Just another perspective on time, family, life, etc. etc. etc. on a cool Canadian Monday morning.
I'm trying to practise awareness more these days and perhaps this is a note for you to do the same as time passes.
XO to you and yours.
- 66 years old SOOO again, NOT unexpected AND (generally) an age where this type of lifestyle catches up with you...ideaist
- yeah that always sucks. and we inevitably regret not reaching out/spending time more. It's tough. when you have kids, family, work etc etc._niko
- but even though he didn't take off, it sounds like he enjoyed the ride while he was here :) and hopefully brought some joy and good memories to loved ones_niko
- @_niko I agree; he certainly did whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, which is great for him!
Death (& taxes) just suck, I guess.ideaist

Re: Everything is so fucking tiring.
After Thanksgiving I stopped checking in with the news.
There's been a considerable amount of more time available to think about what I want to think about. Unless you're required to watch the spectacle, turn away. Thank yourself for it later.
- Turn on, tune in, drop out_niko
- we can all do with some unplugging and enjoying life._niko
- Yep it is a good way to be. just remember that when they come for you or it comes for you, don’t expect anyone to care about your plightnb
- They won’t anyway, so you’re good. I mean, most of us “care” to the extent of getting outraged on our screens... no action.nb
- But when your house burns down or your government comes to take away your rights...thoughts and prayers have no value, anyway.nb

Elon Musk
Dani Dayan, chair of Israel’s Holocaust memorial centre Yad Vashem, has warned that Elon Musk’s call for Germans to “move on” from guilt about the Holocaust and other Nazi-era crimes was “an insult to the victims of nazism”.
“Contrary to Elon Musk’s advice, the remembrance and acknowledgment of the dark past of the country and its people should be central in shaping German society,” Dayan said in a post on X yesterday, referencing Musk’s remarks at a far right rally in Germany on Saturday.
“Failing to do so is an insult to the victims of nazism and a clear danger to the democratic future of Germany,” Dayan added.
