Finally got around to watching The odyssey, here are my thoughts.
Beautifully shot, gorgeous to look at especially on imax, grading, lighting, everything was great.
Didn't expect it to be as emotional for me as it was, I got teary eyed in a few places which surprised me lol
The effects were great, not once was I taken out of the film because off bad CGI, the cyclops was superb and cleverly though of.
matt Damon was mostly great but he was still Matt Damon, the everyman lost in ww2 or on mars or wherever, and he could have used some more talented mr Ripley, ie I didn't buy him so much as the wily Odysseus, he had great pathos, carried a lot of weight in his guilt and saw genuine love in his wanting to get back to his wife and home but lacked a little cunning.
The fight scene at the end was way too long and unnecessary, only part of the movie I was bored in.
Was waaaaay too short even for a 3 hour movie, this needed to be a series.

Never played the game or watched any of the other movies, but caught this over the weekend solely because it was the same director that did Weapons. Equal parts a great horror and comedy

Late to the party, but somehow managed to stay away from ruining it for myself until now, last night watched Barbarian, like whoah dude, good flick, obviously did not see what was coming while it played out lol, second half a movie was me saying out loud over and over ‘uh helllll no’
- They can easily just rename the movie ‘Hell No’prophetone

holy shit this is one of the funniest things I've seen in so long, just couldn't stop laughing. It's like a real-life spinal tap or best in show or blades of glory but waaaay funnier.
- but she's a great sport about it and it's actually endearing._niko
- on principle i just cant. I grew up knowing a few professional breakers in Sydney and to have this entitled ass clown be the whitest person alive .. JUST NOautoflavour

DIGGER.. apparently is NOT a good movie..
some of the reviews
“Ever heard that old saying, this meeting could have been an email? Similarly, rather than being a film, Digger could have been a burning bag of dog poop delivered to Adam McKay’s doorstep ... A seeming broadside at heavy-handed Hollywood advocacy flops like Don’t Look Up, it’s a scathing pastiche of everything that makes such movies insufferably sanctimonious. Yet Birdman director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s obvious technical genius as a filmmaker cannot overcome the plain fact that Digger is both insufferable and sanctimonious.”
“All these preening, obnoxiously self-satisfied moments, and so many more, add up to a movie so convinced of its own brilliance that it cannot see it is in fact the most banal variety of idiot: loud, ugly and forever oblivious to its own shortcomings ... There is no overarching strategy to Digger, just endless scheming from a cinematic charlatan who should have been buried by Hollywood two or three movies ago.”
