  I use transparent PNG only when necessary, but always provide a transparent GIF through an alternate stylesheet for ie6.

  It doesn't always look that smooth but does the trick.

  Not designing for ie6 is just ignorant.

  only use png24 when dealing with alpha overlays. aye....
