Another explosion and fireball after a failed space landing mission and the employees erupt in cheers anyway like a deranged cult.

    WTF?

Nasa used to fly astronauts to the moon and back in the 60's including the salvaging of the Apollo 13 mission and the engineers and scientists showed less fanfare.

    • I've always hated the overly-enuthiusiasti... WOOING at SX launches, but this is still a fairly remarkable achievement.Nairn
    • See that framegrab there? That was taken from a tiny floating platform in the middle of nowhere, so Starship landed exactly where it was supposed to..Nairn
    • ..after its first time allowed to properly maintain an orbit (all launches so far have been sub-orbital). And did so with an engine out.Nairn
    • We're not going to Mars. We're not even going to live on the Moon, never mind oribitals, but this is still a super-important gain in capability.Nairn
