The Paypal reporting to the IRS is actually new as of this year.
They report only if the account transacted an amount greater than 20k over the course of the year, and you have to opt into it.

- Really? they automatically changed it for me. Told me that I had to do it.JSK
- Changed to merchant account etc.JSK
- I don't use my account much, but there is still a notice that pops up asking me to opt inukit
