  So, you don't think better policing would involve trying to engage with the social groups prone to gun and knife crime, rather than further alienating them with stop and searches targeting them by their age and skin colour?

  Finding the occasional weapon at a train station does nothing to address the underlying problems of social exclusion and poverty.
